Why Dibs exists
Dibs started as a personal script. I was trying to book a campsite near Ionia, Michigan for a family trip, and every good spot was gone within minutes of opening up — refreshing the page by hand just couldn't keep up. So I built a small scraper that watched for me and texted the moment a site freed up. It worked, and I got the trip booked.
Apartment hunting has the exact same problem, just with higher stakes: good rentals get a dozen applicants within hours, and the alerts from Zillow and Apartments.com arrive too slowly to matter. Zillow's alerts use batch processing that runs every 30–60 minutes. Dibs Pro checks continuously and notifies you within 5 minutes of a new listing — often 30+ minutes before Zillow sends an email. (Free-plan checks run every 30 minutes, on par with Zillow — Pro is where the speed edge comes in.)
Which cities are supported?
Dibs works nationwide across the US. We use the Rentcast API for MLS-quality data in every major metro, plus Craigslist which covers virtually every city.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account settings at any time. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your billing period — no partial refunds, no gotchas.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay — all processed securely through Stripe.
Does Dibs work for house purchases too, not just rentals?
